Rogers Family Co., Lincoln, CA

I was super excited to shoot for the Rogers Family Company here in Lincoln.  If you drink coffee, you've probably enjoyed their brand numerous times without realizing it.  They supply millions of pounds of coffee and tea each year to merchants worldwide, including Costco stores throughout the Western U.S. Check out their website for more information (they even give free tours around their plant!).

The Rogers Family Co. really does make family a priority.  They seem to have a great relationship with their employees, they provide Community Aid to the coffee growing communities and families in poverty, and they donate thousands of pounds of coffee to the troops.  They even want their customers to feel like a part of their family; on their website it states: "When you buy our coffee, you can be assured that not only are you getting the finest coffee available, but you are directly improving the quality of life for everyone whose lives are touched by the growing, processing, and shipping of coffee".

The reason I was there was to help them capture and image of a cherished gift they received from the troops so they could share it proudly with their families.  Mr. Rogers and his wife came out to meet me in person because it was so important to them to have this wonderful gift captured in the best way possible.  It was so great to meet the people responsible for creating and running such a great company and organize such genuine and generous efforts.

In their office lobby they have proudly on display numerous letters and photographs from the troops.  It was really touching to see how something that may seem so simple to us, like getting some free coffee, can make such a huge impact on the lives of the soldiers.  It's one of the simple pleasures that connects them to the world waiting back at home.

When I left their plant, they gladly gave me some coffee beans as a "Thank You", but I feel like I should be the one thanking them.  Mr. Rogers: Thank you for inviting me into your family and for the delicious coffee....mmmmmmm......
