My family had the pleasure of getting a break from the heat in foggy Monterrey this week. There were 7 of us adults and 3 children sharing a vacation house. Now, this was no ordinary house. It was decked out with 60's decor and appliances I haven't seen since June Cleaver baked a meal. We all got close. I mean, really close. You see, there was only one bathroom. Yep, one bathroom for 10 people! Well, one REAL bathroom. The other had a toilet with no running water and a shower that drained into the backyard. Needless to say, that wasn't the only thing that had us raising an eyebrow. Regardless of the peculiarities of the house, we managed to have such a great time together; the house actually gave us unforgettable "remember when" memories to laugh about in the future.
When we weren't at the house, we were busy at the
beach, the
Monterrey Bay Aquarium,
Fisherman's Wharf,
Cannery Row,
Bubba Gump's,
Carmel,
Whole Foods Market, or the car. We packed our trip full of great tourist activities and left with wonderful foggy memories. The day we left, the sun finally came out. Go figure!
Young at heart? Or just a competitive sand castle builder?
Z plane! Z plane!
The kelp forest was so peaceful to watch sway back and forth
They were so cute holding hands...until someone needed to get by!
Oooooh, jelly fishies!
The lone sting ray
Sardines
What a beautiful sea horse!
Cannery Row
and back to the beach...
